EC Orders Andhra DGP to Take Action Against SP

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed Andhra Pradesh DGP Harish Kumar Gupta (IPS: 1992: AP) to initiate action against Nandyal S P Raghuveer Reddy for failing to enforce the Model Code of Conduct in Nandyal constituency. The ECI ordered a departmental investigation against Raghuveer Reddy, SDPO Ravindranth Reddy, and CI Raja Reddy. DGP has been asked to report actions taken against these three police officials to the EC by 7 PM today. Tollywood actor Allu Arjun did not obtain permission for a rally in Nandyal constituency and police officials failed to control the situation despite the imposition of Section 144 in the constituency.
