
On August 22, 2024, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power, secured two Project Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) through a competitive Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process. The acquired SPVs are:
Sirohi Transmission Limited
Beawar-Mandsaur Transmission Limited
These SPVs are part of the Transmission System Projects designed for the evacuation of power from Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Phase IV (Part 2: 5.5 GW) covering the Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex.
Sirohi Transmission Limited will oversee the development of a Transmission System that includes:
Establishing a new 765/400 kV sub-station near Sirohi, Rajasthan
Constructing 765kV and 400kV Double Circuit (D/C) Transmission Lines
Extending associated bays at existing substations in Rajasthan
This Inter-State Transmission System Project is slated for completion within 24 months.
