Vipin Kumar, a 2014-batch officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), has been appointed as Joint Commissioner (at Deputy Secretary level) in the Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. According to a recent order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), his appointment is made under the Central Staffing Scheme for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The EMRS initiative, launched to provide quality education to tribal students in remote areas, plays a vital role in bridging the educational gap for marginalized communities. Vipin Kumar’s posting as Joint Commissioner is expected to bolster administrative and infrastructural support to these residential schools, which are pivotal to the ministry’s mission of inclusive education.
