The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has notified an amendment to the central deputation policy at the Superintendent of Police (SP) level. Earlier, SP-level posts requiring a minimum of five years of experience were open only to officers from the CBI, NIA, R&AW, and IB.
Under the amended policy, these posts have now been opened to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) as well. According to top sources, the move to include the NCB is aimed at accelerating the bureau’s extensive operationalisation and optimising the utilisation of its manpower.
