Krishna Karunesh, a 2011-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Noida Authority at a time when public trust in urban governance is under intense scrutiny. He succeeds Lokesh M following the tragic death of a young tech professional in Sector 150, an incident that sparked widespread public outrage and raised serious questions about civic accountability and administrative oversight.
Currently serving as the Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Authority, Karunesh has been entrusted with the additional charge of CEO until a permanent appointment is made. The decision comes as the authority faces mounting pressure to address governance lapses, improve safety standards, and restore public confidence.
An experienced administrator, Krishna Karunesh has held several key positions during his career. His previous roles include District Magistrate of Gorakhpur, Hapur, and Balrampur, Chief Development Officer of Ghaziabad, and Vice Chairman of the Ghaziabad Development Authority. Known for his administrative experience in urban development and district governance, expectations are high that his leadership will help steer the Noida Authority through this challenging period.
