Puspendra Singh (ISS: 2013), who was posted as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been sent back to his parent cadre before completion of his deputation tenure. The move comes following his request citing personal reasons.
According to official orders, the repatriation has been approved with an “extended cooling off” period. This means that Singh will not be eligible for central deputation for a specified duration beyond the usual cooling-off period.
The concept of “cooling off” is applied in such cases to maintain administrative balance and ensure proper rotation of officers between the Centre and their respective cadres. An extended cooling-off period is generally imposed when an officer returns before completing the standard deputation tenure.
With this development, Puspendra Singh will now resume duties in his parent cadre and take up further responsibilities as assigned.
