New Delhi | At the national headquarters of the Indian National Congress at 24 Akbar Road, New Delhi, the newly appointed Chairman of the Ideology Department of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Captain Praveen Davar, formally assumed charge. On this occasion, senior Congress leaders, national office bearers, members of the Ideology Department, and representatives from various states welcomed him and held important discussions regarding strengthening the organization.
After assuming office, Captain Davar held an extensive meeting with office bearers of the Ideology Department to deliberate on organizational strengthening, ideological outreach, and strategies to take the pro-people policies of the Congress party to the last person in society.
Addressing the gathering, Captain Davar stated that the Indian National Congress is not merely a political party, but the democratic soul of the nation and the strongest voice for social justice. He said that the ideology of Congress has always worked towards uniting the country, protecting the Constitution, and ensuring inclusive progress for every section of society.
He further said that great leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi laid the strong foundation of modern India through sacrifice, struggle, and visionary leadership — contributions that the nation can never forget. He emphasized the need to strongly carry their ideas and values to the younger generation.

Captain Davar appealed to all office bearers and party workers to work unitedly for the protection of social harmony, democracy, the Constitution, and India’s composite Ganga-Jamuni culture, while taking the Congress ideology to every village and every citizen. He said that the role of the Ideology Department would become even more active, extensive, and decisive in the coming times.

On the occasion, National Coordinator of the Ideology Department, Manoj Singh, stated that today the youth, farmers, workers, women, and common citizens of the country are seriously understanding the nation’s history and present circumstances. He said that people now seek freedom from divisive politics that attempts to remain in power by creating social divisions, misleading youth, and weakening democratic institutions.
Manoj Singh further said that the Indian National Congress will never allow the sacrifices and martyrdoms made by its leaders for India’s freedom, Constitution, and democracy to go in vain. Congress workers, he said, will take the party’s ideology to every corner of the country and launch awareness campaigns against hatred, misinformation, and divisive politics.
He added that the need of the hour is for the people of the country to recognize the dangers of fake nationalism and conspiracies aimed at dividing society, and to unite in defense of the Constitution, brotherhood, and democratic values.
