  • Centre empanels 53 officers from multiple services for Joint Secretary or equivalent-level assignments.
  • Brij Mohan Mishra receives a deputation extension; Rajesh Kumar’s premature repatriation from CRPF is approved.
  • Other updates cover senior IRS transfers, India’s next Ambassador to Senegal and Central Coalfields’ Director (HR) selection.

New Delhi, November 3: Empanelments, deputation decisions and senior personnel movements feature prominently in the latest central bureaucracy updates. The developments include the empanelment of 53 officers for Joint Secretary-level positions, an extension for Commerce Ministry officer Brij Mohan Mishra and the premature repatriation of CRPF Special Director General Rajesh Kumar.

Several decisions were issued or announced on November 2 and featured in reports published on November 3.

53 Officers Empanelled for Joint Secretary-Level Assignments

The Centre empanelled 53 officers from different services and batches on November 2 for Joint Secretary or equivalent-level positions in the Government of India.

The panel includes officers from the Revenue, Railway, Audit and Accounts, Civil Accounts, Statistical, Economic, Telecommunications and Trade services. Among them are 10 IRS officers from Customs and Indirect Taxes, six IRS officers from Income Tax and 10 Indian Telecommunications Service officers.

The development concerns empanelment for central assignments. It does not announce individual ministry postings for every officer on the list.

Brij Mohan Mishra Gets Deputation Extension

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has extended the central deputation of Brij Mohan Mishra, a 2008-batch AGMUT-cadre IAS officer serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

The extension covers six months beyond November 16, 2026, or until he is relieved to assume the position of Minister, Economic and Commercial, at the Embassy of India in Tokyo.

Rajesh Kumar Repatriated from CRPF

The Centre has approved the premature repatriation of Rajesh Kumar, a 1995-batch AGMUT-cadre IPS officer, from his assignment as Special Director General in the CRPF.

A separate November 3 report by Whispers in the Corridors states that he has subsequently been posted as DGP of Arunachal Pradesh. The original order for that subsequent posting was not independently verified.

CBIC Transfers Senior IRS Officers

According to Whispers in the Corridors, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has transferred 10 senior IRS officers.

The reported postings include Atul Kumar Rastogi as Chief Commissioner, Authorised Representative, CESTAT, New Delhi; Satyajit Singh as Chief Commissioner, GST, Panchkula; and Ved Prakash Shukla as Chief Commissioner, GST, Vadodara.

N. Sridhar, Jaideep P. and Arvinder Singh Ranga have reportedly been assigned Chief Commissioner positions in Visakhapatnam GST, Chennai GST and Customs, Patna, respectively. These details remain attributed to the publication because the original CBIC order was not retrieved.

India Names Next Ambassador to Senegal

Inbasekar Sundaramurthi, a 2004-batch Indian Foreign Service officer serving as Consul General in Barcelona, has been appointed India’s next Ambassador to Senegal.

The Ministry of External Affairs announced the appointment on November 2. He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

Central Coalfields Selection Process Advances

The Public Enterprises Selection Board has reportedly shortlisted 12 candidates for Director, Human Resources, at Central Coalfields Limited. Interviews are scheduled for November 10, 2026.
