The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the promotion of four IPS officers from the 1993 batch to the rank of Special Directors in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). These officers were previously serving as Additional Directors and have been promoted on an in-situ basis.
The promoted officers are:
Rithwik Rudra (Himachal Pradesh cadre)
Mahesh Dixit (Andhra Pradesh cadre)
Praveen Kumar (West Bengal cadre)
Arvind Kumar (Bihar cadre)
According to an order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), these appointments will remain effective for a tenure of two years or until further orders, whichever comes first. This move is expected to bolster the leadership and operational efficiency of the IB in addressing national security challenges.
