Assam Chief Secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur after retirement in March end may be appointed Chairman RERA after the expiry of term T Y Das.

Acting Director Enforcement Directorate Rahul Navin who was appointed to the post in September 2023 is likely to be made permanent. He has been recently empanelled by the Union government to hold an Additional Secretary rank at the Centre. Navin is a 1993 batch IRS has also been promoted as Special Director.officer.

Apoorv Chandra, Secretary MIB, has been given additional charge of the Ministry of Health. Now galleries are curious about which ministry will get a new Secretary – Health or I&B.

Veera Rana has been appointed Chief Secretary of MadhyaPradesh. She is 1988 batch IAS officer.

Ravi Kota has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam. He will take charge from the date of superannuation of incumbent secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur on March 31, 2024. He is 1993 batch IAS officer.

On return from CBI Amit Kumar has been appointed ADG (Intelligence) in Chhattisgarh. He is 1998 batch IPS officer.

Sanjay Bandopadhyay has been appointed as Chairman, MP Employees Selection Board (ESB), Bhopal upon his repatriation to parent cadre. He is a 1988 batch IAS officer of MP cadre.

Sri Nivas Verma, who joined the CBI, has been posted to Guwahati as Joint Director. He is a 1997 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre.

Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka is scheduled to retire on June 30, 2024. He was appointed the 28th IB Chief for tenure of two years in July 2022. He is a 1988 batch IPS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre. In all probability he will get an extension.

Two posts of Member in the NCLAT are vacant. New appointments are expected to be made in February.
