The current Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar, Rajwinder Singh Bhatti (IPS: 1990: BH), is anticipated to be transferred to a central deputation. This move comes at a crucial time when several Central Police Organizations (CPOs) including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Border Security Force (BSF), and National Security Guard (NSG) are in need of new leadership.
Sources indicate that the New Delhi establishment is considering appointing Bhatti as the Director General of CISF, a position that has been vacant since the retirement of Mrs. Neena Singh (IPS: 1989: RJ) on July 31, 2024. Currently, Anish Dayal Singh (IPS: 1988: MN), the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), is temporarily overseeing the CISF responsibilities.
Should Bhatti be selected for a senior role in one of these central police organizations, the Bihar Government will need to appoint a new DGP to succeed him. It is understood that the Bihar Government has already begun the process of identifying a suitable replacement for Bhatti.
