New Delhi : Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to provide additional 29 IPS posts to the state. In his meeting with the Home Minister, he raised the point that Telangana is allocated 61 IPS posts which are insufficient in terms of its present requirements. He emphasised on the necessity of reviewing the IPS cadre every five years and urged the Home Minister to conduct the review for Telangana which was last done in 2016.
Reddy also requested the Home Minister for the urgent need of establishing camps of security forces in Adilabad, Mancherial and Komaram-Bheem Asifabad districts on the pattern of camps in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra to counter Left-wing extremism.
