D Anandan, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2000 batch from the Sikkim cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Expenditure. He will serve in this position for a tenure of five years, succeeding Amit Singh Negi (IAS: 1999: Uttarakhand), who previously held the role.
