The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has selected Brijendra Pratap Singh for the role of Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Undertaking. Singh, who is currently serving as Director in-charge of the Burnpur and Durgapur Steel Plant at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), was chosen from a pool of six candidates interviewed for the position.
Pending the necessary clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), Singh will succeed Sridhar Patra, who is set to retire on October 31, 2024. This appointment is expected to bring a wealth of experience to NALCO as it continues to navigate the challenges and opportunities in the aluminium sector.
