New Delhi : The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed T V Ravichandran (IPS: 1990: TN) and Pawan Kapoor (IFS: 1990) as Deputy National Security Advisors in the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS). Currently Ravichandran is serving as Special Director, Intelligence Bureau. Initially the appointment of Ravichandran is made upto his superannuation on 31.08.2024 and thereafter on the basis of re-employment on contract as per the rules and norms applicable to Dy NSA.
Ravichandran replaces Rajinder Khanna (IPS: 1978: OD) who has been appointed as the Additional NSA. Reportedly, Kapoor replaces Vikram Misri (IFS: 1989) whose tenure was as Dy NSA cut short for his appointment as Foreign Secretary of India.
