New Delhi, July 30, 2025 — Sudhakar Dalela (IFS:1993) has been appointed as the next Secretary (Economic Relations) in the Ministry of External Affairs. He will succeed Dammu Ravi (IFS:1989), who is set to superannuate on August 31, 2025.
Dalela, a seasoned diplomat with over three decades of experience in Indian Foreign Service, will assume charge of the critical post that oversees India’s economic diplomacy, development partnerships, and multilateral economic engagements.
Dammu Ravi, the outgoing Secretary, has had a distinguished career in the MEA and is credited with strengthening India’s international economic cooperation during his tenure.
