Rajasthan government appointed the senior IPS officer Utkal Ranjan Sahoo as the state’s new Director General of Police (DGP) for a tenure of two years or until further notification. Officer Sahu succeeded officer Umesh Mishra as the new DGP after the latter opted for voluntary retirement in December 2023. Mr. Sahoo is an IPS of 1988 batch.
