The second day of CII AgroTech India – Krishi Bharat 2024 saw the successful hosting of the 10th edition of CII SugarTech 2024, a flagship conference dedicated to advancing the sugar industry. Mr. Roshan Lal Tamak, Conference Chairman and Executive Director & CEO of DCM Shriram Ltd, discussed the expanding role of the sugar industry in Uttar Pradesh, noting its contributions not only to sugar production but also to ethanol and biogas. He pointed out that the UP-State Bio Energy Policy aims to leverage these resources to enhance the growth and sustainability of sugar farmers. “CII AgroTech India – Krishi Bharat 2024 is an essential platform for tackling challenges and finding solutions for a sustainable future,” Tamak added, emphasizing the need to adapt to changing sustainability, climate, and technology trends.
Dr. R.G. Agarwal, Chairman Emeritus of Dhanuka Agritech Ltd, addressed the importance of resource optimization, particularly through balanced fertilization, as a key step towards achieving a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). “By using resources wisely, we empower farmers to become more self-sufficient and independent,” he stated, underscoring the need for sustainable agricultural practices.
Mr. Vivek Verma, Managing Director of Spray Engineering Devices Ltd, spoke on the integration of technology in sugar and agricultural practices, stressing the role of hydrogen economy, IT, and sustainable practices. “The next decade will be defined by cooperation, maximizing every opportunity for a sustainable agricultural revolution,” he said, highlighting the potential for transformative growth in the sector.
