Vineet Satyanarayanan Nair, an officer of the Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES) from the 2011 batch, has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
According to the official order, his appointment is on a central deputation basis for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Nair’s induction into the Ministry of Home Affairs comes at a time when the ministry continues to play a pivotal role in matters of internal security, disaster management, border affairs, and center-state relations. His experience in land management, administration, and defence estates is expected to bring valuable insights into the functioning of the ministry.
