Senior IAS officer Alagu Varsini V S, of the 2012 batch from the Telangana cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, Government of India. Her appointment is for a period of four years, as part of a central deputation.
Alagu Varsini V S is known for her administrative acumen and leadership in public service. She brings with her over a decade of experience in governance and development administration, particularly in handling key government programs and policy implementation at the state level.
In her new role at the Department of Rural Development, she is expected to contribute significantly to policy formulation, program execution, and strengthening of various rural development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in India’s villages.
