In a significant bureaucratic move, Rajesh Aggarwal (IAS: 1989: Maharashtra cadre), who was serving as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, has been repatriated to his parent cadre.
The decision comes at the request of the Government of Maharashtra, which sought his return for state-level administrative responsibilities.
Aggarwal, a senior IAS officer with over three decades of service, has previously held several key positions both at the Centre and in Maharashtra.
He is known for his work in digital governance, social welfare, and public policy reforms.
