New Delhi : State-owned Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) has emerged as the Preferred Bidder for a Composite License (CL) for the Baghwari-Khirkhori copper and associated mineral block located in Sidhi District of Madhya Pradesh.
The mineral block was notified by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, and the e-auction process was successfully conducted on 22 January 2026. Following the completion of the bidding process, HCL was declared the Preferred Bidder in accordance with the applicable auction rules and guidelines.
The acquisition of the composite license is expected to strengthen HCL’s mineral resource base and support its long-term growth strategy in copper exploration and mining, aligning with the government’s push for enhanced domestic mineral production and reduced import dependence.
