New Delhi : In a significant leadership development, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri Kota Ravi for appointment as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Schedule ‘A’ Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence.
The recommendation was made during PESB Meeting No. 8/2026, held at 8:45 AM, and recorded under Minute No. 1. Shri Kota Ravi is currently serving as Director (Operations), HAL, and was selected after interviews of several senior and high-profile candidates.

With decades of experience in aviation operations and management, Shri Kota Ravi is expected to provide strong leadership to HAL’s expanding portfolio in aerospace manufacturing, defence production, and research & development, further strengthening India’s indigenous defence capabilities.
The leadership change comes at a crucial juncture as HAL accelerates key programmes in fighter aircraft, helicopters, rotorcraft, and unmanned aerial systems, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of India’s strategic defence manufacturing ecosystem.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is engaged in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of aircraft, helicopters, engines, and advanced aerospace systems, playing a pivotal role in India’s defence and aviation sectors.
