The Central Government on Monday issued a series of notifications announcing key appointments and tenure extensions across various departments and services.
Santosh Kumar Singh has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Meanwhile, Renuka Tripathi has been appointed as Deputy Director (Director level) in the National Archives of India under the Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years.
The tenure of Santosh Gopal Ajmera, Joint Secretary (Director level) at the Union Public Service Commission, has been extended until February 25, 2028.
In a significant development, Subrat Das has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Posts, succeeding Vandita Kaul upon her superannuation.
The tenure of Pramod Kumar Meherda, Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has been extended till September 2, 2028. Similarly, Piyush Anand will continue as Director General of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) until March 30, 2027.
S Suresh, ADG in the Special Protection Group (SPG), has received an extension till December 31, 2026.
Additionally, Rubina Ali has been given an extension as Joint Secretary & CEO of the National Trust under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities on a lateral shift basis until December 31, 2026.
The cooling-off period of Ajay Kumar has been waived following his premature repatriation to his parent cadre.
Further, Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, has been assigned additional charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Steel Authority of India Limited for a period of one year or until a regular appointment is made.
These appointments and extensions are seen as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative efficiency and governance.
