  • 2011-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer sent back to parent cadre before completion of deputation
  • Premature repatriation approved on personal grounds with an extended cooling-off provision

New Delhi: Senior IAS officer V Jaya Chandra Bhanu Reddy (IAS: 2011: TN) has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds.

Bhanu Reddy was serving as Director in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Central Government. As per the latest order, his central deputation has been curtailed and he will return to his parent Tamil Nadu cadre.

Central Deputation Ends Before Scheduled Tenure

The decision has been taken to repatriate the 2011-batch IAS officer before the completion of his scheduled deputation period. The order cites personal grounds as the reason for the premature repatriation. Bhanu Reddy belongs to the Tamil Nadu cadre of the Indian Administrative Service and had been serving in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying during his central deputation.

Extended Cooling-Off Provision Included

The repatriation order also includes the provision of “extended cooling off.” Under deputation rules, a cooling-off period generally applies before an officer becomes eligible for another central deputation. With the extended cooling-off provision attached to the order, the officer will have to comply with the applicable requirements before any future central deputation.

Served as Director in Animal Husbandry Department

During his tenure at the Centre, V Jaya Chandra Bhanu Reddy held the position of Director, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. Following his premature repatriation, the officer will return to his parent cadre in Tamil Nadu. His next assignment and posting will be decided by the concerned state authorities.
