Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav (IPS: 1992: PB) has got a big relief from the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) which has dismissed the petition filed by former DGP VK Bhawra (IPS: 1987: PB) against the posting of Yadav to the post of DGP.
The controversy started when the state government replaced Bhawra with Gaurav Yadav as DGP. After this, a petition was filed in CAT on his behalf. In this, he said that the rules of UPSC have been ignored to appoint Yadav as DGP. The rules have not been followed properly. This case was going on in CAT for almost a year.
