New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the waiver of the mandatory cooling-off period for Vidhi Kumar Birdi, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 2003 batch from the AGMUT cadre.
The relaxation has been granted under the provisions of the IPS Tenure Policy, enabling Birdi to be considered for central deputation without completing the prescribed cooling-off period that is ordinarily required before an officer can move to a deputation assignment with the Central Government.
The decision provides an exception to the existing tenure norms and allows the officer to take up a central deputation assignment in the interest of administrative requirements.
