Government Appoints IDAS Officer Amulya K G as Director (Finance) in Coffee Board

New Delhi : In a significant administrative appointment, Amulya K G (IDAS: 2011) has been appointed as Director (Finance) at the Coffee Board, Bengaluru, under the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The appointment has been made at the Director level for a period of three years.

According to the official order, the post is classified (Amulya K G) as a Non-Central Secretariat Service (Non-CSS) position, reflecting the government’s continued emphasis on placing experienced financial professionals in key autonomous and statutory organizations.

Amulya K G belongs to the 2011 batch of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), one of the premier Group ‘A’ Central Civil Services responsible for managing the financial affairs of the Ministry of Defence. Officers of the service possess extensive expertise in public finance, budgeting, expenditure management, financial advisory, internal audit, procurement, and fiscal governance.

As Director (Finance), Amulya K G will oversee the financial administration of the Coffee Board, including budget planning, financial management, expenditure control, accounting systems, audit compliance, and strategic financial decision-making. The role is expected to strengthen financial transparency and ensure efficient utilization of resources for the Board’s various developmental and promotional initiatives.

The Coffee Board, (Amulya K G) headquartered in Bengaluru, functions under the Department of Commerce and plays a pivotal role in promoting India’s coffee sector. It is responsible for supporting coffee cultivation, research and development, quality improvement, exports, market promotion, and the welfare of coffee growers. India is among the world’s leading coffee-producing nations, with Karnataka accounting for the largest share of domestic production, followed by Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The appointment comes at a time when the Coffee Board is intensifying efforts to enhance India’s global competitiveness in coffee exports, (Amulya K G) improve value addition, encourage sustainable cultivation practices, and strengthen support for coffee growers across producing regions. With his experience in government financial management and public sector administration, Amulya K G is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening the Coffee Board’s financial governance and supporting its long-term institutional objectives.
