Anwesh Kumar Aileni (IRSME: 2013) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), under the Department of Commerce. His appointment is for a period of four years.
The position has been created by downgrading one of the vacant posts of Additional Director General of Foreign Trade (ADGFT) within the DGTR. This strategic move aims to strengthen the administrative framework of the DGTR, which plays a critical role in protecting domestic industries from unfair trade practices through anti-dumping, countervailing, and safeguard measures.
Mr. Aileni, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), brings over a decade of experience in public service to his new role.
