Ashok Kumar, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer from the 2006 batch of the Customs and Indirect Taxes (C&IT) cadre, currently serving as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been appointed as the Joint Director of CBI. His appointment is for a tenure of seven years, extending up to January 29, 2026.
