Assam’s current Director General of Police (DGP), G P Singh, is anticipated to move to a central government role, potentially as the DGP of either the Border Security Force (BSF) or the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Singh, a 1991 batch IPS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya (AM) cadre, is set to transition to this new position in the near future.
