In view of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for October-November, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena (IAS: 1989: BH) is expected to receive an extension in his service tenure.
Meena, who earlier served as Secretary in the Ministry of Coal, Government of India, was repatriated to his home cadre from central deputation. The anticipated extension is seen as a move to ensure administrative continuity and stability during the crucial electoral period, enabling smooth coordination between the state machinery and the Election Commission.
