Delhi: Bihar DGP Rajwinder Singh Bhatti (IPS: 1990: BH) is set to be relieved of his duties as the head of the state’s police force, with indications suggesting a transfer to a central government position. Bhatti, who assumed the role of Bihar’s Director General of Police on December 20, 2022, was expected to serve until September 2025. During his tenure, he made significant contributions, including the high-profile arrest of mafia don and Member of Parliament from Sivan District, Syed Sahabuddin. Bhatti also has a distinguished background with previous roles as Joint Director at the CBI and Chief Vigilance Officer at the Airports Authority of India (AAI).
Sources suggest that Vinay Kumar (IPS: 1991: BH) is currently the leading candidate to succeed Bhatti, with Alok Raj (IAS: 1989: BH) and Shobha Ahotkar (IAS: 1990: BH) also in contention.
