In the lead-up to the Jharkhand Assembly elections, the Congress party has announced its intention to contest 25 of the total 81 seats, unveiling a first list of 21 candidates. Notably, former IPS officer Ajoy Kumar, who previously served as a Lok Sabha MP from Jamshedpur, will be contesting from Jamshedpur East. Currently, he is the Congress in-charge for Tripura, Odisha, and Nagaland.
Other prominent candidates include State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, who will stand for election in Lohardaga, and Health Minister Banna Gupta, who is set to contest from Jamshedpur West. The Congress aims to strengthen its position in the state with this strategic selection of candidates.
