The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has announced Dharmendra (IAS: 1989: AGMUT) as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi (Govt of National Capital Territory), effective September 1, 2024. He takes over from Naresh Kumar (IAS: 1987: UT), who is concluding his extended tenure today. Dharmendra, currently serving as Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh, previously held the role of NDMC Chairman before moving to Arunachal Pradesh in June 2022, succeeding Naresh Kumar. Dharmendra is also empanelled for a Secretary-level position at the Centre and will continue his service until September 30, 2025.
