Dr. Pramod Kumar Meherda, a 1997-batch IAS officer from the Odisha cadre and currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (DoAFW), has been ex-post facto entrusted with the additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA).
The appointment is for a period of six months, effective from July 15, 2025. Dr. Meherda’s additional responsibility follows the cancellation of the appointment of Anil Kumar Singhal (IAS: 1993: AP).
This temporary arrangement aims to ensure continued leadership and smooth functioning of the NRAA, which plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable development in rainfed areas across India.
