Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Dr Vinod J Bahade of the 2007 batch has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to the Republic of Colombia. At present, he is serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
According to the official announcement, Dr Bahade is expected to take up his new assignment shortly. With extensive diplomatic and administrative experience, his appointment is expected to further strengthen bilateral ties between India and Colombia.
India and Colombia have been expanding cooperation in several sectors, including trade, energy, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and cultural exchanges. His appointment is being seen as an important step toward enhancing strategic and economic engagement between the two countries.
