
New Delhi : The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Vikram Mistry (IFS: 1989), Deputy National Security Advisor in the National Security Council Secretariat, as the new Foreign Secretary. He will take charge of the office on July 15, 2024 when the incumbent FS will be completing his extended tenure on July 14, 2024.
On March 12, 2024, the incumbent FS Vinay Kwatra (IFS :1988) was given extension up to July 14, 2024. Tenure of Vikram Misri as Deputy National Security Advisor has been curtailed for the news assignment.
