The Government of India has appointed Gaurav Garg, an officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS), 2011 batch, Punjab cadre, as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Garg is currently serving as Passport Officer under the Ministry of External Affairs. His appointment in the NHRC will be on deputation basis for a period up to November 15, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
