In a standalone case, Haryana Cadre IPS officer Amitabh Singh Dhillon (IPS: 1997: HY) was empanelled for holding the post of Joint Secretary or equivalent at the Centre. A major JS empanelment took place on March 13, 2024 which did not include Dhillon. Moreover, the way bureaucratic reshuffle took place in Haryana, it appeared that Dhillon might be shifted to the Centre and would be drafted for some important assignment.
Interestingly, the Haryana government on March 1, 2024 appointed Amitabh Singh Dhillon as additional director general of police (ADGP), Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Dhillon replaced Shatrujeet Kapur (IPS: 1990: HY), the incumbent DGP of Haryana.
