India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026: Salman Ali Agha Calls for ‘Good Spirits’ Ahead of Colombo Clash

Posted on February 14, 2026February 14, 2026 By northsouthblock No Comments on India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2026: Salman Ali Agha Calls for ‘Good Spirits’ Ahead of Colombo Clash

By NSB.News

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha addressed the media on the eve of the high-voltage T20 World Cup 2026 encounter against India, urging that the much-anticipated contest be played in “good spirits” despite the backdrop of recent tensions.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash in Colombo, Agha acknowledged that Pakistan do not have a strong record against India in World Cups. However, he maintained that the team is focused on delivering its best performance on the big stage.

The marquee encounter comes after weeks of what has been described as Pakistan’s “boycott drama,” adding extra attention to the fixture. Despite the off-field narrative, Agha emphasized that cricket should remain the focal point.

The Pakistan skipper dismissed concerns over spinner Usman Tariq’s bowling action and backed star batter Babar Azam to deliver, expressing full confidence in their abilities. In a sporting gesture, Agha also said he hopes India opener Abhishek Sharma recovers in time for the match, stating that he wants to compete against the best players.

Weather, however, could play spoilsport, with forecasts indicating over a 60 percent chance of rain in Colombo, casting uncertainty over the contest.

India captain Suryakumar Yadav is expected to address the media later in the day as anticipation builds for one of cricket’s biggest rivalries.
