K Sanjay Murthy has been appointed as the new Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. He is a 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre. With his vast experience in public administration, Murthy’s appointment is expected to further strengthen the CAG’s role in promoting financial transparency and accountability in government operations.
