New Delhi : The Central Government on Thursday issued a series of notifications announcing fresh appointments, re-designations of posts, and extensions of central deputation tenures across various ministries and departments.
Shailesh Kumar Singh (IAS: 1991: JH), Secretary, Department of Rural Development, has been given additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Land Resources, until a regular incumbent is appointed.
The tenure of Sheetal Verma (IAS: 2007: UP), Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR), Uttar Pradesh, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been extended for an overall tenure of five years, up to 05 August 2026.
The post of Private Secretary at Deputy Secretary level to the Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, presently held by Praveen Singh Adhayach (IAS: 2012: MP), has been re-designated as Private Secretary at Director level. The re-designation will remain valid up to 25 March 2030. His central deputation tenure is effective from 26 March 2025.
Praneet Choudhary (IRAS: 2008) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (Director level) in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, for a period of five years.
The post of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, currently held by Vikram Singh Malik (IAS: 2012: AGMUT), has been re-designated as Director for a period up to 28 August 2030. His central deputation tenure is effective from 29 August 2025.
The post of Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary level), held by Dr Anupam Talwar (IDES: 2012), has been re-designated as Deputy Director (Senior) (Director level) at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) for a period up to 06 September 2026. His central deputation tenure is effective from 07 September 2020.
Similarly, the post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Rural Development, presently held by Alagu Varsini V S (IAS: 2012: TG), has been re-designated as Director for a period up to 03 September 2030. Her central deputation tenure is effective from 04 September 2025.
Devesh Kumar Mahla (IPS: 2012: AGMUT) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a period of five years.
The central deputation tenure of Pulkesh Kumar (IRPS: 2011), Director in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has been extended by two years beyond 21 December 2025, up to 21 December 2027. He has been on central deputation since 22 December 2020.
Additionally, the tenure of Soorya Thankappan (IPS: 2001: OD), Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Fertilizers & Chemicals Travancore Ltd. (FACT), has been extended for a further period of two years beyond 12 February 2026.
