Kumar Rao, a 2011 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre, has been appointed as Secretary of the Coffee Board in Bengaluru. The appointment, made under the Ministry of Commerce, is for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
His posting is aimed at strengthening the leadership of one of India’s key commodity boards responsible for promoting coffee production and exports.
