Minister’s direction to Chief Secretary signals more twists in the story

Posted on March 21, 2024 By northsouthblock No Comments on Minister’s direction to Chief Secretary signals more twists in the story

The bureaucratic circle is agog with an express order issued by Delhi government’s water minister Atishi Marlena directing Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar (IAS: 1987: UT) to monitor that water and sewer system functions at optimum level in the entire city. She ordered that the Chief Secretary will monitor to ensure adequate number of water tankers are made available for all parts of Delhi as per requirement in the summer months.Delhiites are witness to a battle between Chief Minister Arwind Kejriwal and the LG. This fight has reached a crescendo and this strong order indicates a new low in the ongoing tussle for power. Political observers said that the CS has so far made the going tough for the CM. But the new order from Water Minister to CS will make him responsible for every small issues in water department which is christened as Delhi Jal Board. In fact, water tankers are handled by engineers of Jal Board during past three decades. Thus order is asking the CS to monitor tankers thus making him responsible for water chaos that Delhi faces in every summer. This is a cliffhanger situation wherein the dexterous CS has to play deftly. He is known to play his stylish masterstrokes that his predecessors like MM Kutty and Vijay Kumar Dev couldn’t do. We should await much more twists in this story.
