Mrinal Chawla, an officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS) from the 2014 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals. The appointment is for a period of four years.
The order was issued following approval from the competent authority, as part of the ongoing administrative reshuffling to strengthen governance in key sectors. Mrinal Chawla brings with him extensive experience in audit and financial management, which is expected to support the department’s initiatives in regulatory and policy frameworks for the chemical and petrochemical industries.
