By NSB.News
Following the recent orders from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) repatriating two senior IAS officers, C B Kumar and K. R. Meena, to their parent cadre, it is expected that Andaman & Nicobar Islands (A&NI) and Mizoram will soon see the appointment of new Chief Secretaries.

Indianmandarins has learned that Chandra Bhushan Kumar (IAS: 1995: AGMUT) is likely to be appointed as the new Chief Secretary of A&NI. This position became vacant after Keshav Chandra (IAS: 1995: AGMUT) was transferred to Delhi as the Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). Currently, Kumar serves as the Additional Secretary and Mission Director for the Jal Jeevan Mission under the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation (DWS) in the Government of India.

In Mizoram, Khilli Ram Meena (IAS: 1993: AGMUT) is expected to be appointed as the new Chief Secretary, succeeding Dr. Renu Sharma (IAS: 1988: AGMUT), who retired on 31st October 2024. Meena, currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, is likely to take over the reins in the state. It is noteworthy that a 2005 batch IAS officer is currently functioning as the Chief Secretary of Mizoram.

These anticipated appointments follow a reshuffling within the AGMUT cadre and are expected to bring fresh leadership to the respective states.
