New Delhi : Approves Rahul Naveen as Director of Enforcement Directorate

Posted on August 15, 2024August 15, 2024 By northsouthblock No Comments on New Delhi : Approves Rahul Naveen as Director of Enforcement Directorate

By NSB.New

New Delhi : The Indian government has officially appointed Rahul Naveen (IRS IT: 1993) as the Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a two-year term. Naveen, who has been serving as the acting Director since September 15, 2023, following the completion of S.K. Mishra’s tenure, will now hold the position in a regular capacity.

Previously, Naveen was serving as the Special Director at the ED and was appointed as the in-charge Director after Mishra’s term ended. On December 1, 2023, the government indicated its decision to appoint him as Mishra’s successor by empaneling Naveen for the Additional Secretary-rank position in the Government of India.

It is notable that the role of Director at the ED is typically at the Additional Secretary level but is often elevated to the rank and pay of Secretary on a temporary basis. Naveen’s predecessor, Sanjay Kumar Mishra (Retd IRS IT: 1984), also began his tenure as ED Chief at the Additional Secretary level before being elevated to Secretary.
