According to well-placed sources, the New Delhi establishment is considering former Union Secretary Ali Raza Rizwi (Retd IAS: 1988: HP) for the position of Member on the Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB). This role has been vacant since Sailesh (Retd IAS: 1985: AM) completed his term several months ago.
Rizwi, who retired as Secretary of the Department of Public Enterprises on July 31, 2024, is seen as a strong candidate for the position. The urgency of filling this role has increased as several key positions on the PESB will soon become vacant. Chairperson Mallika Srinivasan is set to conclude her term in November, and senior Member Amarjit Sinha (Retd IAS: 1983: BH) will finish his tenure in December.
