Nitin Jain, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) from the 2011 batch, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Steel, has been re-designated as Director in the same ministry, effective from January 1, 2025. His new tenure will extend until March 15, 2026, completing a combined five-year period of central deputation.
Jain’s deputation tenure with the ministry officially began on March 16, 2021, and his re-designation reflects his continued contribution to the department’s functions and objectives during his tenure in public service.
